VKS Architects is an innovative architectural firm with expertise in both residential and commercial design. We are based in Katonah, New York, but have completed projects in the Czech Republic and Portugal as well as the Tri State area.
VKS Architects offers a full range of Architectural, Project Management and Design-Build services, ensuring an execution as meticulous as our clients' vision.
We are happy to provide any of these services or will assume a project from Design through Construction. Services include Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration, Feasibility Studies, Project Management, and One Stop Design-Build Services.
Our clients include individuals, corporations, non-profit organizations, government agencies and educational institutions.
VKS & Katonah Building Corp
In response to our clients demands, VKS Architects and Katonah Building Corp. developed an alternative approach to construction Design-Build Services. This approach results in better control of construction activities and the schedule than in a traditional General Contractor Owner Architect arrangement.
Information flows directly from the designer (VKS Architects) to the individual subcontractors and their work force. The interpretation of the construction documents is provided not by a general contractor, who in turn needs to consult the architect, but by the architect/designer who provides direct instructions to the people doing the work. This results in a faster, more efficient, and better quality construction process.
Additionally, the traditional Architects observation of the construction process is included in the general construction cost, saving additional funds for the owner.

Residential design and construction
Our residential project experience includes design of new single and two-family family residences, modifications to existing residential buildings, accessory buildings, additions and alterations, such as master bedroom suite additions, kitchen additions, upgrades and modifications, new family rooms, etc.
We are fortunate to have many long-standing relationships with our clients and they would like to share their experiences.
Commercial, Institutional, Industrial
VKS Architects have successfully completed the design and construction of restaurants, multi-use / multi-tenant office buildings, medical offices, equestrian farms, fire houses and ambulance corps facilities, schools and educational facilities, manufacturing facilities, and restoration of historic buildings such as churches. Working closely with the clients and their staff, we quickly establish the project guidelines and provide the design and construction documents, guiding the project through construction to a successful completion.
With over 30 years of combined experience we have encountered and solved many of the common construction challenges as well as some unusual ones. Our focus on meticulous preparation of the construction drawings, careful estimating and scheduling of the construction activities as well as attention to minute details during the construction, along with close collaboration with the client is the key to successful, on-time completion of our projects.
